Prof. Dr. Metin Çakmakçı

Medical Services Director / Executive Board Member

Prof. Çakmakçı graduated in 1981 from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his residency there in 1986. Prof. Metin Çakmakçı joined the academic staff and became Chief Physician of the Faculty of Medicine. In addition, he received his Master’s degree in "Healthcare Management" in 2004. Between 2000 – 2007, he worked as Medical Director and was part of the reorganization of Acıbadem Medical Group. Prof. Metin Çakmakçı played an active role in the foundation of the Association for Quality Improvement in Health. Since October 2007, he has been Director of Medical Services at Anadolu Medical Center. A member of many academic and social bodies, Prof. Çakmakçı is currently the elected Chairman of the European Surgical Infection Society.)

John D. Crossley, R.N., MBA, PhD.

Director of Patient Care and Nursing Services

Mr. Crossley received a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Michigan in 1975. He received a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina in 1982 and one in Management from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. He got his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993.

He worked as an Intensive Care Nurse at the University of Michigan’s Medical Center in 1975; as Emergency Service Director at Johns Hopkins Hospital between 1975 – 1977; Assistant Director of Nursing Services at Cleveland Memorial Hospital between 1977 – 1983; Assistant Director of Nursing Services at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital from 1983 – 1985; Project Director at the University of Pennsylvania between 1985 – 1986; Kellogg Foundation Member at the Kellogg Public Health Institute between 1986 – 1987; Senior Co-Director of Nursing Services at the University of Iowa from 1987 – 1991; Senior Assistant Chairman for Nursing Services at the Cleveland University between 1991 – 1995; Assistant Chairman and Director of Nursing (CNO) at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas between 1995 – 2003; Assistant Chairman for Quality and Director of Nursing (CNO) at Scott and White between 2004 – 2005; and Senior Assistant Director and Director of Nursing (CNO) at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems between 2006 – 2009.

Dr. Crossley is currently Director of Patient Care and Nursing Services at Anadolu Medical Center.

Architect Mustafa Uslu

Director of Administrative Services

Mr. Uslu graduated from Istanbul Mimar Sinan University’s Faculty of Architecture in 1984. Prior to joining Anadolu Group, he worked as Project Architect at Sabancı Foundation Project office in 1984; Assistant Construction Site Manager at Soyak Construction Company between 1987 – 1988; and Construction Site Manager in the Istanbul Greater Municipality public housing site in Alibeyköy between 1988 – 1989. He joined Anadolu Group in 1990. He worked as Architect-Control Engineer at Anadolu Yapı between 1990 – 1993; and Control Engineer at Anadolu Education and Social Assistance Foundation between 1993 – 2000. Between 2001 – 2006, he was Project Technical Director for bureaucratic and technical affairs at the Anadolu Education and Social Assistance Foundation Health Facilities Financial Management during the foundation of Anadolu Health Village and Anadolu Medical Center. He was Technical Services and Investments Manager at Anadolu Health Center between 2006 – 2007. Since April 2007, along with handling the technical aspects of Anadolu Group’s health sector investments, he has been Administrative Director of Anadolu Medical Center.

Timuçin Yurdanur

Director of Financial Affairs

Mr. Yurdanur graduated from Middle East Technical University in Economic in 1997. He completed the Executive MBA program at Koç University in 2004. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He began working a Financial Control Specialist at the Office of Financial Affairs Coordination at Anadolu Industry Holding in 1997. He has continued to work there since 2001 as Financial Comptroller. Mr. Yurdanur, who assumed the position of Financial Control Manager at Anadolu Medical Center in 2005, has been Financial Control Director since January 2010.

Türkan Özilhan

Director of Logistics

Mr. Özilhan graduated from Oglethorpe University in 1996. He worked as Assistant Financial Affairs Specialist at Anadolu Industry Holding between 1996-1998, and then as Human Resources Specialist there between 1998-2000. In 2004 he served as Maintenance Continuity Services Director and between 2004-2007, he worked as Patient Services Director at Anadolu Medical Center. She has been Director of Logistic Services at Anadolu Medical Center since April 2007.

Aslı Akyavaş

Director of International Services

Ms Akyavaş graduated from Boğaziçi University in International Relations in 1996. She completed a certificate program in Marketing at the University of California in 2002. Between 1996-2001, she worked as International Advertising and Product Manager at Arçelik. She also worked as Marketing Director at Ricline Textiles between 2002-2004. She worked at Anadolu Medical Center as International Services Supervisor between 01.08.2005 – 01.01.2007 and International Services Manager between 01.01.2007 – 01.04.2010. Since April 2010, she has been International Services Director.

Burak Gürcan

Director of Human Resources

Burak Gürcan

Burak Gürcan is graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Business Administration Faculty, department of Industrial Engineering in 1996. He obtained masters degree in Industrial Engineering Management from Istanbul Technical University, Business Administration Faculty, in 2001. Having started his carrier as Assistant Human Resources Specialist at Anadolu Endüstri Holding A.Ş in August 1996, he worked in different managerial positions at Efes Biracılık ve Malt San. A.Ş.between 2001- 2006. Afterwards, he rendered his services as Assistant Human Resources & Industrial Relations Coordinator at Anadolu Endüstri Holding A.Ş. until February 2011. As of March 01, 2011 Mr.Burak GÜRCAN is assigned as Human Resources Director to Anadolu Sağlık Merkezi. Mr.Burak GÜRCAN is married with a child. He speaks English and Italian.
