A Multidisciplinary Structure for Correct Diagnosis and Treatment
Because all fields of specialization have been brought together and the physicians working in these fields all work fulltime, multidisciplinary care can be provided at Anadolu Medical Center.
In a multidisciplinary structure, all physicians in the main and sub-branches of the department can contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. It makes it possible, when necessary, for specialists in relevant disciplines to come together and prepare a joint treatment plan. This ensures proper diagnosis and effective treatment management.
Committees set up for service excellences organize inter-departmental communication. The councils formed in such main departments are oncology and pain to monitor patient diagnosis and treatment are also helpful in the operation of the interdisciplinary structure. "Clinical footpaths," developed at Johns Hopkins, designate the treatment to be following according to the protocol of particular illnesses and are implemented, too, at Anadolu Medical Center, where they are prepared and implemented by the councils.
International Standards
Anadolu Medical Center continues its efforts to document that it provides service at international standards befitting the Johns Hopkins Medicine name. It has acquired JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation and Integrated Management System Standards and ESMO (Medical Oncology and Palliative Care) accreditations. Anadolu Medical Center now aims at receiving the Magnet consent program and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) accreditation. It also has its sights set on becoming not only a hospital, but a research and education center.
Anadolu Medical Center aims at progressing through education and research and continually improving its resources. The collaborative agreement with Johns Hopkins in the areas of education and research is a major contribution to this goal.
Anadolu Medical Center has adopted Johns Hopkins' main philosophy, which is based on education, research and service, and believes in the absolute necessity of integrating healthcare services with research and education. Accordingly, while physician conduct research in their areas of specialization, they receive education on various subjects at home and abroad.
Every physician at Anadolu Medical Center has his own office separate from the examination rooms. Therefore, they can work fulltime and continue their research in these offices. Moreover, there is a library where physicians can keep abreast of all domestic and foreign literature.
In addition, there is a 1,500 m2-laboratory to be completed in the next phase of the project which will enable physicians to carry out scientific research.
Concept of Patient-Centered Service
The Anadolu Medical Center operates with the philosophy, "whatever society needs, we will provide as Anadolu Medical Center." Accordingly, it aims at getting the "Illness Management" program, which deals with illnesses requiring multidisciplinary treatment, off the ground in the near future. With the implementation of the "Illness Management" program, Anadolu Medical Center makes getting examined and treatment easier for chronically ill patients and elevates patient satisfaction, one of Anadolu Medical Center’s priorities, to the highest level possible.
