Quality Policy
Anadolu Medical Center has been established on sound foundations and planned as
a whole according to the requirements of national and international accreditation
and standardization.
Anadolu Medical Center’s quality has been documented.
1) Integrated Management System
Within its first year, Anadolu Medical Center was awarded the Integrated Management
System Certificate for its quality service. It it the first medical institution
in Turkey to have received the following certificates:,
ISO 9001 – 2000: Quality Management System
ISO 14001: Environment Management System

While establishing the integrated management system as its strategic target, Anadolu
Medical Center, as usual, has followed the right course of action. Once more, it
has demonstrated the importance it places on quality and the health of both the
environment and employees.
ISO 9001 - 2008 Quality Management System
ISO (International
Standardization of Organizations) is an international standardization organization.
TSE has been working to get certification, particularly for products. The first
certification awarded to healthcare institutions was in 1996.
- ISO 9000 standards lay out the bases for a quality management system and specify
the terminology for quality management.
- The ISO 9004 Standard is a guide for quality management system effectiveness and
productivity. The objective is performance improvement and customer satisfaction.
- The ISO 19011 Standard is a guide for quality and environment management systems.
ISO 9000 standards can be grouped under 6 headings:
- General Conditions,
- State of Documentation ,
- Management Responsibility,
- Resource Management,
- Product/Service Implementation,
- Measurement, Analysis and Improvement.
ISO 14001 Environment Management System
The ISO 14001
is a first step toward protecting nature and the environment. The ISO 14001 Environment
Management System encourages the use of technologies that do not harm the environment
and natural resources, and contributes to the consumer’s awareness of and sensitivity
to this issue. It helps to eliminate products and raw materials that are environmentally
harmful.
The ISO 14001 Environment Management System was created for the purpose of specifying
and assessing the impact the services provided by our hospital have on the environment
and to contain potentially serious ones. One of the necessary conditions of environmental
management is the principle of closely monitoring Anadolu Medical Center’s modern
practices.
An institution that is awarded the ISO 14001 Certificate by meeting its requirements:
- Contributes to the prevention of pollution by managing wastes and recycling
- Reduces the consumption of natural resources by efficient use of resources
- Reduces costs by keeping wastes under control
- Ensures sound trust in society by protecting the environment and creating environmental
awareness
- Creating a sense of pride in its personnel from working at an institution that respects
society and the environment
Anadolu Medical Center meets all of the legal requirements and is making improvements
within the framework of the environment management system in the areas indicated
below.
- Control of medical waste
- Control of dangerous waste
- Ensuring radiation safety
- Control of solid waste
- Control of water pollution
- Protection of air quality
- Noise control
- Ensure the recycling of glass, paper, toner and waste oil
- Provide employees, patients and their relatives education about the environment
- Efficient use of natural resources
- Ensure the collection of waste by covered vehicles that do not leak or allow fumes
to escape
What does a hospital implementing the ISO 14001 Environment Management System achieve?
It provides service that conforms to laws and regulations concerning the environment.
It ensures compliance to regulations regarding the management of medical wastes,
solid, liquid and dangerous wastes and emissions, noise control and radiation safety.
Is prepared for emergencies.
It guarantees the maintenance of this achievement.
OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System
The OHSAS
18001, the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, identifies what aspects
of the activity performed affect health and safety. In addition to ensuring adherence
to pertinent laws, it aims at the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the work
environment, adherence to relevant laws, and reaching targets.
The OHSAS 18001 ensures that workers have a safe and healthy work environment. OHSAS
18001 institutions support the conduct of planned and systematic efforts to ensure
the occupational health and safety of worker so as to become more competitive.

Society for Medical Oncology) accreditation is a special one that includes hospitals.
Hospitals that believe that they meet the standards published by the ESMO apply
to the ESMO, after which the hospital’s organization and functioning is inspected.
The ESMO ensures that international standards are met not in the treatment of patients,
but also in the healthcare provided to patients who can no longer be treated medically.
Anadolu Medical Center is the only institution in Turkey that has ESMO accreditation.
Its Oncological Sciences Department, which is accredited by the ESMO (European Society
for Medical Oncology), is reinforcing its status as a reference center in all areas.

Anadolu Medical Center has acquired the title of Baby Friendly Hospital and is working
to meet all of the requirements of this title.
