The Neurological Sciences Department’s units of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry work in close coordination, since their practice usually involves overlapping symptoms and disorders which need to be evaluated from all three aspects and treated accordingly.
The Neurological Sciences Department has adopted a multi-disciplinary approach with other departments at the hospital as well, since the nervous system and other systems of the body affect each other in many ways. Therefore, the basic operational principle is to offer holistic care to patients. Advanced electromyography, headache, neuropathic pain treatment, epilepsy, primary and secondary prevention of stroke, diagnosis and treatment of dementia are among these multi-disciplinary approaches.
Our goal is to offer the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic methods to our patients along with primary care services. We also consider the education of the public with regards to medical issues of utmost importance, since minutes matter when it comes to saving lives.
