Levend Özkan

Born in 1974 in Istanbul, Levend Özkan attended primary school at Levent Elementary School, middle school and high school at Istanbul Private German High School. Afterwards, Özkan decided to study medicine and enrolled in Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1993. He graduated in 1999 and took the Medical Specialization Examination in the same year. Then he started his specialty training at Kocaeli University T.F. Department of Urology. In 2004, Özkan became a Urologist and then decided to specialize in kidney transplantation. He received training at Istanbul Medical Faculty, Yale University and University of Miami Organ Transplant Centers, respectively. After returning to Turkey, he founded the Kidney Transplant Center at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine in 2010. Özkan was named associate professor in 2012 and professor in 2020.
